Welcome to the website of The Junior League of Houston, Inc. I am honored to serve as the 87th President as I begin my 11th year of service to The Junior League of Houston, Inc. Founded in 1925, the Junior League of Houston is an organization of more than 5000 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

This year the League will donate more than $2 million in trained volunteer time and direct financial support to the Houston community. The Junior League of Houston will touch more than one million lives this year through our 34 community projects, grants and collaborations. The League’s impact in the community is possible because of the dedication of our members, including 1500 active, trained volunteers who each give approximately 72 hours each year in service to our community on behalf of the Junior League of Houston. Beyond their active membership years, the League’s sustaining members continue to serve the League and the Houston area through their leadership and participation in a variety of service activities. The tireless commitment of the entire membership enables the League to continually address a variety of basic, critical, and emerging needs. Whenever any of us face difficult economic times, it makes sense to reconsider the concept of value. Understandably individuals and corporations are more cautious with investments as everyone wants to see a good return. In addition to its members, the Junior League of Houston is supported financially by a generous group of community partners, donors, Tea Room patrons, corporations, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and friends who help us in “Building A Better Community” year after year. For every dollar that we donate to the community, we are able to triple its value by pairing it with a trained League volunteer. This is a great return on everyone’s investment!
