CPR
Instructors teach basic life-saving skills to the general public at the only free CPR training in Houston. CPR involves mouth to mouth resuscitation and external compressions for the cardiac arrest victim. Adult, child and infant CPR is taught, as well as foreign body obstructed airway management. Classes occur at St. Luke's and Chapelwood churches, as well at various other locations through the outreach program. Please call 713.961.1670.

Dress for Success Houston
Volunteers provide guidance to low-income, job ready women in selecting interview appropriate clothing and accessories. Additionally they support the staff by assisting with sorting and organizing donated and purchased clothing. A new project involves the Professional Women's Group, which provides an environment for members to share, grow and network with other women who have recently transitioned into the workforce. Houston Food Bank
Volunteers assist the Houston Food Bank in monitoring and evaluating their member agencies by conducting on-site visits and updating agencies on all services and benefits offered by the Food Bank. Kids Meals
Volunteers meet in the League kitchen on Monday evenings in order to assemble 1,000 sack lunches, which are distributed to needy children, ages 2-6, who are not enrolled in a preschool or Head Start program.
Pet Therapy
Volunteers bring comfort and companionship to the residents of area retirement homes and children in area shelters by visiting them with S.P.C.A. companion animals. Visit the S.P.C.A. at http://www.houstonspca.org.
Spanish Community Outreach (SCORE)
Volunteers spend the Fall of their volunteer year in Spanish language lessons and the Spring community placements that benefit from Spanish-speaking volunteers.
VIEW (Volunteers in Evening Workshop)
Volunteers design and construct useful handicrafts to be distributed to various agencies and hospitals with which the League is involved.
